Terminate Panera Bread's Mashpee, Massachusetts Manager

This petition had 2,690 supporters

A manager by the name of Trish employed at Panera Bread in Mashpee, MA has renamed the black bean soup. She now calls it "Nigger Soup". An employee (a person of color) complained about the racist slur and was subsequently terminated.
From a witness: "It appears, in an attempt to sweep it under the rug, the District Manager, Robert Lopez fired the black employee. In our phone conversation yesterday afternoon, he tells me that it was the black teen who used the racist language, and then seemed to back pedal when I shared what I'd observed and heard. He also filed a no-trespass order against the teen and her mother in what clearly appears to be an attempt to criminalize the teen. Lopez also offered me free coupons. He was supposed to call me back and never did. The offending manager is still employed at the same location.
The police officer who took the complaint from the mother of the fired teen reportedly told her that the manager has the first amendment right to call it 'Nigger Soup' ...and furthermore admonished the teen, telling her that she was in the wrong for not showing more self-control. He also re-wrote the complaint to reflect that the teen was in the wrong."

Dear Panera Executives...
I represent an ever growing group of individuals who are soon to be former patrons of your restaurants pending an unfavorable outcome to this disturbing turn of events. Please address this issue beyond standard reprimand. We are hopeful that your organization will prevent openly racist management from continuing to represent your brand. I sincerely appreciate your time and consideration in this matter.
Thank you.
