There are many different types of courses that you can take in school. However, school fails to offer courses that teach life skills, things that will stay with people for the rest of their lives. This includes skills such as cooking, time and finance management, how to calculate taxes, etc. These subjects should be required classes because they can prepare students for when they leave high school to feel confident beginning their lives as adults.

Although these skills can be taught from places outside of school, students may feel more inclined to participate and learn in school if it will benefit them throughout their lives.

Adding classes such as managing and calculating taxes or finance management is something that should be added to the A-G curriculum and become requirements for high school graduation. (Minimum of one year)
