Hair Colour Doesn’t Affect Your Learning

The Issue

Constantly, schools tell us to express ourselves..well how? We can’t use colour on our hair or clothes, we are stuck wearing a uniform, no makeup or funky shoes, how are we really supposed to express ourselves while sticking to the rules? This is why I believe we should be allowed to dye our hair, and if not cool colours then subtle colours. No, it’s NOT going to distract classmates, if they are sensible they wouldn’t spend their lessons looking at someones hair colour. In black culture especially, most girls would dye the ends of their braids certain colours but due to the restrictions they are told to remove it, is this really suitable? Please sign the petition and help students express themselves, share this and make a difference.
