Keep Hope Charter High School Open!
The Issue
The students who attend Hope Charter High School need HOPE NOW!
Hope Charter High School has been recommended to close at the end of this school year by the Philadelphia School Reform Commission. The next meeting is in late April, at which time we will present this petition, and they will hear the final presentation of reasons why HOPE needs to stay ALIVE!
SIGN THS PETITION AND TELL THE PHILADELPHIA SCHOOL REFORM COMMISSION TO NOT CLOSE HOPE CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL!
HOPE Charter School is an educational setting that is wholly configured to meet the unique needs of students who are not currently succeeding in their conventional school, may not be attending school or attending sporadically, and/or may be in danger of leaving school prior to their graduation. The school provides an environment that is designed to meet the unique and comprehensive needs of these at risk students by utilizing small learning groups and individual interaction of students with a multi-disciplinary staff that is trained and committed to successfully educating each of these students.
HOPE Charter School, a free, public school available to all 9-12th grade students, is located in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The school opened in September 2002, and its cornerstone is to work with young people who have experienced educational disruptions and challenges and need the benefit of small classes, a small learning environment and on-site social services.
•We are a small school – only about 440 students
•Our classroom size is small – an average of 18 students per teacher.
•We have a remarkably high attendance rate for a high school - on average 86%
•For the last two years, every student graduate has been offered a college place
The School needs a lot of support! Please visit the website and contact them! http://hopecschool.org/index.html
