Allow Pupils To Sit Their SQA Exams

The Issue

Please reinstate SQA Exams at the end of summer, rather then cancel them. It is unjust to cancel rather than postpone. Prelims across schools are not consistent. The decision to cancel is unfair to those who performed poorly in their prelims, through illness or general lack of preparation or any other reason. Teenagers don’t always appreciate the importance of prelims but learn from mistakes. Most will have been working hard since then. Cancelling exams denies them the opportunity to learn from these mistakes. It doesn’t let them show their full potential. This decision quashes the right of the child in terms of Article 12 of the UN Convention on The Rights of the Child to express a view and have due weight given to that view. Let those who wish to  sit exams sit them.
