School preached POSCO but silenced victims: Justice for APSJ students
The Issue
This is about 3 girls from Army Public School, Jorhat, Assam.
A Class 10 boy from the school used AI to create fake nude images of them without their consent.
That’s crime #1.
But crime #2 is worse.
On 22 July 2026, parents of 2 victims went to meet the Principal and 5 teachers to demand an FIR.
This is what the school did instead of helping:
1. Don't put FIR, it will ruin the boy's life. He just made a mistake
2. "Delete your Instagram. If you post photos publicly, people will misuse them."
3. Teachers checked our Instagram and scolded us for posting reels, as if we were at fault.
4. "We will just give TC with no remarks. Let him go to Firozpur and give boards."
No support. No counseling. Only shame and silence.
The irony?
The same school has POCSO Act posters on every wall.
We get "Good Touch Bad Touch" lectures. "Cyber Safety" talks. "Talk to us about anything" assemblies.
But when real abuse happened, they chose to protect reputation, not students.
The boy showed no remorse.
The victims got blame.
This is institutional victim-blaming. This is a cover-up.
WE DEMAND:
1. Immediate FIR under IT Act and POCSO Act. School must cooperate with police and cyber cell.
2. Strict action against Principal and staff who pressured parents to stay silent and victim-blamed students.
3. Independent inquiry by Army HQ and CBSE into the school’s handling of this case.
4. Written policy for all Army Public Schools: In cases of abuse, support the victim first. File FIR first. No more silencing.
A school cannot preach POCSO in the morning and break it in the afternoon.
If this happened to your daughter, your sister, your friend — would you stay silent?
Sign to tell Army Public School Jorhat: We see what you did. And we won’t stay quiet.
