PETITION TO USE THE WORD “YERP” IN PLACE OF THE WORD “PHONE,” JUST BECAUSE WE CAN.

For everyone that is not aware, the #YerpMovement is a movement based off of the book “Frindle,” by Andrew Clements, which was a very popular read in many’s elementary school years, and it was about a boy, Nick, who created the word “frindle” in his fifth grade class to describe a common pen. Eventually, everyone in the class began using the word “frindle,” spreading to the entire school, inevitably going viral, and *spoiler alert,* ends up being published in a dictionary. So in an attempt to bring this story to life, the people in support of this petition move that the the use of the word “yerp” should be dedicated to replacing the use of the word “phone,” as it is a commonly used noun, and “yerp” has been deemed a entertaining word to use according to a general consensus. #YesToYerp #YerpMovement #ILoveMyYerp
