Say Yes to the New Charlottesville Zoning!

Say Yes to the New Charlottesville Zoning!

The Issue

Say Yes to the New Charlottesville Zoning to Support Affordable Housing, Racial Equity, and Environmental Justice

City Councilors: We urge you to vote in favor of the new zoning code. Charlottesville needs you to stay strong on maintaining allowances for density, height, and other components of the zoning code which will expand housing opportunities, encourage affordable housing, and integrate neighborhoods which have been exclusionary for too long. Years of work have gone into this key part of addressing Charlottesville’s affordable housing crisis. Please oppose any attempts to weaken the draft!

The zoning code will:

1. Address displacement in majority-Black and low-income neighborhoods
2. Provide more housing and educational opportunities in historically exclusionary neighborhoods
3. Enable Charlottesville to make great strides towards its environmental goals.
