Our new deputy head teacher is living with a convicted sex offender and is able to take our children's personal information home. This situation is alarming and raises serious concerns about the safety of our children.    

This information has only been made public through online social media posts and articles in the media. Fife Council is not obligated to inform parents of these types of situations. As parents, we deserve the right to have more control over what, if any, of our children's information is able to make it into a house with a convicted sex offender.  This doesn't only apply to home-working, this applies to any conversations with our children in school which then get taken home and shared. 

The proximity between a school official and a known offender is concerning not only for us, as parents, but also for the wider community. It is essential that those entrusted with the care of our children maintain the highest standards of personal conduct and do not pose an indirect risk to their well-being.

Introducing any risk to our children is non-negotiable.  Our children's safety should be number one priority for Fife Council. Parents should feel safe sending their children to school.
