The Tall Tree Wind Farm has become one of the most strongly opposed renewable energy projects in Victoria.

Hundreds of residents have attended meetings, lodged submissions, signed petitions and repeatedly raised serious concerns, yet many feel their voices continue to be ignored.

This is not opposition to renewable energy. This is opposition to the wrong project in the wrong location.

Residents remain deeply concerned about:

• The safety and future of Lethbridge Airport, a critical aviation and emergency services asset.
• Bushfire preparedness and aerial firefighting capability in a region that understands the devastating consequences of major fire events.
• Endangered wildlife, native habitats and biodiversity that cannot be replaced once lost.
• The cumulative impacts of increasing industrial-scale energy developments across the region.
• The growing division within our communities, as neighbours, families and local residents are forced into conflict.

Golden Plains Shire Councillors were elected and are paid to represent, advocate for and protect the interests of the people of this Shire, not developers, host agreements or future revenue streams.

The community expects its Councillors to listen to the hundreds of residents who will live with the consequences of this project long after any decision is made.

We also call on host landholders to acknowledge the scale of public opposition. While individual landowners have rights, the impacts of this proposal extend far beyond property boundaries and affect the wider community.
