Say NO to Sprung Structures in Kanata Nepean or Ottawa and Surroundings

The Issue

Please join us on : 16th Nov 2024 @ 1:00 PM at 40 Hearst Way

The communities of Kanata and Nepean have been identified as the prospective regions for the establishment of asylum shelter homes in the city of Ottawa at 1645 Woodroffe Ave. near the Nepean Sportsplex and 40 Hearst Way in Kanata, part of the Eagleson Park & Ride.

While our community appreciates and understands the need for humanitarian support, we hold valid concerns regarding the safety and balance of our well-established and peaceful communities.

It's a well-known fact that shelters often experience significant challenges associated with infrastructure and safety protocols, which could potentially disrupt the harmony of mature neighbourhoods and compromise the quality of life of local residents.

We are advocating for a strategic reevaluation of the proposed locations and urge the city of Ottawa to consider alternatives that can accommodate these shelters without impacting established communities.

Join us in this endeavour, sign this petition, and make your voice heard to protect the integrity of our neighbourhoods.
