Say NO to radioactive debris in Okinawa

The Issue

Japanese Prime Minister Noda visited Okinawa on 2/26/2012, requesting that the Okinawan Prefectural government and local cities accept radioactive debris from Fukushima and nearby affected areas if the Japanese government asked them.
As residents of Okinawa we petition the elected leaders of Okinawan government in the strongest terms to never allow radioactive debris to be shipped to Okinawa.

震災がれきについては安全性が確保できないため、受け入れを拒否してください。福島の人々を助けるために他の良い方法があります。放射性汚染から沖縄を守りましょう。

We fear the environmental and economic impact of allowing radioactive debris onto Okinawa will severely damage the health and livelihood of the Okinawan community for many many years. We fear many visitors will stay away from Okinawa due to fears of radioactive contamination. We fear the reputation of beautiful Okinawa will be severely damaged for a very long time.

Governor Nakaima is scheduled to make a statement on accepting debris into Okinawa on April 6, 2012. Therefore we have added a deadline for completion of this petition of MARCH 31st in order to allow sufficient time to submit it to the local media and the Governor's office. Thank you everyone for your support.
