A planning application has been submitted to Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council by a company called D2 Propco Ltd. who propose a change of use from The Mount Pleasant Hotel, Merthyr Vale B&B accommodation to that of a House of Multiple Occupancy.

Correspondence from D2 Propco Ltd. was  according to them distributed to residents of Mount Pleasant despite the majority of residents not in receipt of any such correspondence regarding this matter and were only made aware via social media by one resident who actually received the letter.

The wording of the correspondence causes serious concern amongst residents as the company states that a 24/7 emergency on-call system for tenants and neighbours is available which doesn't provide reassurance for residents.
