Below is a message from the lobbyist, David Anderson of http://www.hillcopartners.com/ who has worked very diligently on behalf of the Texas Barber and Cosmetology professionals.  Please take a moment to read his message and follow through!

The Conference Committee report has the 1000 hours language in it. Cosmetologists only, not barbers.

The bill will be eligible for a vote later today.  We’re working with friendly members to kill the bill when it gets to the floor later today. .

Simple message: Do not approve the conference committee report for HB 2847. It contains the Schwertner amendment that reduces cosmetology training requirements. The amendment was sneaked into the bill by Senator Hancock without a hearing. The cosmetology industry was denied a hearing on this important issue that is bad for cosmetologists and consumers.
