READ! Urgent Call To Action for HB 2847!

Dear Supporter,
This is an urgent "Call To Action" for HB 2847 which relates to Barber and Cosmetology licensing hour reduction from 1500 hours to 1000 hours. Students need to be prepared and consumers need well educated professionals providing services for their needs. A lack of education can lead to a bad experience and a bad experience will not create a repeat customer nor will it create "A Better Working Texan"!
Happening Now!
HB 2847 was received by the House late on Wednesday and placed on the House “Items Eligible” list. This means it could be considered late today.
The House author will decide to concur or not concur with Senate changes. If the decision is to not concur, the House and Senate will select five members from each chamber for a conference committee to review the differences.
This reminds us that the legislative process is designed to make passing a bill difficult. This is a good thing!
What we need you to do!

You should make two calls today, one to your own representative and one to your own senator. Explain your opposition to the Schwertner amendment to HB 2847. The Schwertner amendment reduces trading hours from 1500 to 1000. You know the reasons why this is bad policy.
Your two calls will help now and help build awareness of the issue in the longer term.
