TEXAS! Who is taking care of home?

Dear Supporter,
This email update is to inform you that HB 1705 remains an active bill and must be monitored until it is withdrawn or dies in commitee. However, HB 2444/SB 1507, & HB 2843 (which has movement) are bills that would decrease the Cosmetology hours from 1500 to 1000 hours and would allow the education institution to administer the practical exam.
Is less education preparing a Texas work ready Cosmetologist? It sounds good but is it really? Think about it, reduced hours and non standardized exams accross the board for licensure! Where would the testing consistency be?
Dr. Farouk Shami of Farouk Systems supports the Texas Barbers and Cosmetologist. Farouk Systems, one of the largest manufacturers in the world publicly said, "We need to promote the professional hairdresser and upgrade the salon industry to better serve the public in a safe clean and professional manner." Farouk Systems is "taking care of home"!
On a personal note, I drove my dear friend to the hospital in October of 2018. I have attached the outcome of her $45 pedicure. This is by no means an attack on nails salons but an attack on HB 1705, HB 2444/SB 1507, and HB 2843. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2437841209594058&id=1476335055744683
