The Issue

We are calling for urgent action to reduce the harmful impacts of fast fashion on our environment, communities, and ecosystems. The fashion industry is responsible for producing over 92 million tons of textile waste each year—much of which ends up in landfills where it can take hundreds of years to decompose. Toxic dyes and synthetic chemicals used in clothing production often run off into waterways, polluting drinking water and damaging marine ecosystems.

In addition to the environmental toll, the human cost is just as alarming. Millions of garment workers—many of them women and children—work in unsafe, poorly regulated factories for wages far below a living standard. These workers are exposed to hazardous chemicals, face long hours, and lack basic protections.

Our goal is to raise awareness, advocate for ethical change, and pressure fast fashion companies to adopt sustainable practices—such as using recycled materials, reducing chemical usage, and ensuring safe, fair labor conditions. By supporting this petition, you are helping to amplify the voices of exploited workers and protect the future of our planet.
