Say No to Data Centers in Maysville KY

Say No to Data Centers in Maysville KY
The Issue
(Sign Updated Petition: here)
Growing up in Maysville, I’ve come to cherish everything that makes our city special—our rich history, small-town charm, and tight-knit community values. From the rolling hills of Mason County to the quiet streets of our neighborhoods, Maysville represents more than just a place to live—it’s a legacy we pass on to future generations.
That legacy is now at risk.
The sudden push to bring data centers into our community—without transparency, public input, or long-term planning—raises serious concerns. These industrial facilities threaten to permanently alter the heart and soul of Maysville. Massive energy and water consumption, increased noise, bright artificial lighting, and the possibility of higher utility bills are just a few of the potential consequences we could face if our leaders don’t act with caution and care.
Data centers often operate 24/7, bringing with them loud cooling systems, heavy infrastructure, and constant traffic. Their environmental footprint can be immense, draining valuable resources and leaving nearby residents to shoulder the burden. Once the lights of these centers go up, we lose more than just our dark skies—we lose a piece of what makes Maysville feel like home.
Our community wasn’t built on concrete and server farms. It was built on shared values, a connection to the land, and a commitment to each other. We cannot afford to trade away our identity and quality of life for projects that primarily serve outside interests.
We urge the Maysville City Commission and local decision-makers to halt any approval of data center developments until a full, public, and transparent discussion takes place. The people of Maysville deserve to have a say in shaping the future of their hometown.
Please join us in standing up for Maysville. Sign this petition to demand accountability, transparency, and protection of our community values. Together, we can ensure Maysville grows with intention—preserving its character, honoring its past, and protecting its future.
