CCC Plastic Group doesn't just make plastics -- they make  microplastics called nurdles. Trillions of these tiny spheres fall into the environment every year, where they absorb germs and chemicals before getting eaten by animals and entering our water sources. Research has found these microplastics in over 200 species, including heron, blue gill, song birds, and humans.

Despite superficial commitments to end pellet loss, CCC Plastic Group has clarified that monitoring the loss of their pellets into the environment is beyond our government's authority, and we will not be alerted of any spills. 

Unfortunately, the Port Authority trusts the company more than their community. They claim this facility would have "no environmental health impacts," but we know that isn't true.

We, the undersigned, demand the Port Authority exit negotiations with CCC Plastic Group and refocus efforts on cultivating a sustainable economy that aligns with our values and honors our natural resources.  

Why this fight matters:

1. Preserving the Appalachian foothills from permanent harm so they may serve future generations.
2. Protecting our children from an increased risk of developmental delays, heart attacks, and cancer.
