We, the residents and supporters of 600 Fleet Street, respectfully oppose the proposed opening of a McDonald’s restaurant in our community at 19 Bathurst Street.

Our concerns include:

• Increased traffic and congestion, especially near schools, parks, and residential streets.
• Litter and environmental impact, including increased waste and plastic pollution.
• Health concerns tied to the promotion of fast food in areas already facing public health challenges.
• Disruption to the character of our neighbourhood, which prioritizes local, independent businesses and a quieter, community-oriented atmosphere.
• Noise and light pollution affecting nearby homes and public spaces.

We urge the City and Councillor Ausma Malik to reconsider any approvals or permits associated with this project. We ask that more community-friendly alternatives be explored that align with the values and needs of our neighbourhood.
