Stop permission being granted to develop historic Castletown, Celbridge. Co Kildare

The Issue

235 acres of land was sold to developers for over 5 million euros. Developers are not currently allowed to develop housing there but we assume they want to get this ruling changed.

The developers have put 'land poisoned' signage next to an area that is zoned as part of OPW's biodiversity drive.

There are many ancient oaks trees and other important flora and fauna on this site that need to be protected from destruction.

This is an area of cultural, historical and environmental significance.

Save Castletown! (please be aware that donations requested by change.org do not go to the Save Castletown group )

update to description originally posted June 15th:

"The uses envisaged include leisure, amenity, recreational, tourism, and employment uses. The owners have never intended to and will never propose or promote the use of the land at Castletown for housing" source: RTE news article by Sinead Hussey. Accessed 15th September 2023. www.rte.ie/news/regional/2023/0915/1405551-castletown-house/

The petition seeks no development at Castletown.
