#SaveBelagaviCorporation- Govt should act Against Illegal Property Demolition in Belagavi.

The Issue

I am a concerned citizen of Belagavi, witnessing firsthand the devastating effects of a road widening project from Bank of India to PB Road at Shahapur area. This project has violated legal procedures, leading to property demolitions without adherence to the CDP and master plan. The High Court’s intervention led to an inquiry that found Belagavi Smart City Ltd responsible, yet no action has been taken against the errant officers. Now, our city corporation faces a financial burden running into crores as compensation for the illegal road widening and property demolitions, putting it at risk of bankruptcy.

This isn’t just about property owners facing grave injustice. This is about the future of Belagavi and every resident who calls this city home. If our city corporation goes bankrupt, vital public services will suffer, affecting the quality of life for all. Our everyday comforts and the very fabric of our communal life are under immediate threat due to actions that have shown complete disregard for legal procedures, all to benefit certain individuals at the expense of our city.

It’s high time that the Karnataka State Government intervenes, takes necessary action against those responsible, and restores justice to property owners by returning the land and compensating those affected by the illegal demolitions. Let us stand together and put a stop to this unethical activity that disrupts the socio-economic balance of our city.

This call to action isn’t just for Belagavi, but for anyone who believes in justice, fairness, and sustainable development. Join us in appealing to the state government, and let’s protect Belagavi and its people.
Please, sign the petition today. #SaveBelagaviCorporation.
