Women's rights is extremely important because everyone should be treated fairly and equally.

Multiple women from all over the world still unfortunately face unfair treatment, such as lower pay, missing chances in school or work, and even violence. Standing up for women's rights helps make sure girls and women can live safely, follow their dreams, and have the same chances as everyone else.

Short term affects that Women can experience is:

• Men can get paid more than women for going the same thing
• Violence against women
• People making complaints towards women like
  - Breastfeeding in public
• Saying they can’t drive
• Saying that stay-at-home mums are easy-going
• Being discriminated against

Long term effects on society can be things like:

• Some people get upset or fight against women's rights
• Changes can cause problems in families or traditions
• Women may feel pressure to do both work and family jobs
• Not all women get the same chances (some still face unfair treatment)
• A few people may use rights in the wrong way
