Below is an official announcement made today by Starz Equestrian Center and Windmill Farms.  The same day that the township has decided to tear down the historic farmhouse, moving forward with their agenda.   Please read!!

Hello All!

We are devastated to share that bulldozers showed up this morning to tear down the property at Windmill Farms.  For those who are new to following our journey, the township made its unfortunate decision to continue with the process to terminate our contract 3 years early, leaving Windmill without a facility for its programs and the 32 horses who have called Windmill Farms home and lovingly served our community for over 15 years! These horses need your help and we need your unwavering support now more than ever.

Exciting news! Windmill Farms and Starz Equestrian Center Partnership

In the midst of this difficult news, we are pleased to announce a community partnership going forward with a local 501c3 nonprofit therapeutic horseback riding program, STARZ Equestrian Center! Between Windmill Farms and STARZ, not only will we be able to continue offering weekly lesson programs, pony rides, community equine outreach, and homes for local equestrian teams but we will now be able to expand our programming to include therapeutic riding programs, equine assisted learning opportunities, veterans programs, and even horse powered reading curriculums! As Windmill and STARZ explore a venue to continue growing their partnership…..we need your donations to bring this to fruition for our community and secure a location before time runs out. Should donations run light, our herd may be separated which is something we hoped we’d never have to see happen! We have 72 days to organize a future for Windmill and to soar!

Please consider making a donation

We compel our supporters to donate what they can to help secure our future facility and the costs to continue caring for our herd (feed, hay, medications, farrier visits, vet visits, deworming, etc). $100 may just be a dinner out on the town for some, but if each of our supporters contribute what they can, we could make big dreams come true for our community. Donations will be collected by STARZ Equestrian and as a 501c3 your donations are tax deductible (contact STARZ to request a receipt). Every cent will go towards ensuring the community has access to our life changing equestrian programs.

Join us in a farewell to our current Windmill Farms facility

We are also happy to announce to our community and supporters a chance to say goodbye to the existing Windmill Farms location.
On Sunday, April 23 from 2:00-5:00pm, we are running an in-person fundraiser.
Please join us for pony rides, brush a pony, tack sale, equestrian team demonstrations, bake sale, selfie station with a horse, voting for your favorite equine partner, crafts and other activities, and a chance to learn about and meet our nonprofit partner, Starz Equestrian Center. We will have a station to collect bottles and cans for returns and even offer special riding packages to end our time here at Windmill! Please check out the attached flyer for more information! (We could also use totes with lids to help us pack our items for moving and more information to follow on how you can help once we are able to secure a location!)

We cannot do this without your help and are so grateful for your support!  We have fought this hard for what was right and when that didn’t prevail we knew we could count on our community's support to help us weather the storm. What’s that saying again….when you fall off a horse, you gotta get right back in the saddle again. Please help us keep those smiles in our saddles!

Thank you for your continued support,

Carrie (Windmill Farms) and

Charlotte (Starz Equestrian Center)
