After processing through the events over the past few days. The update is as follows.
With the townships unjust termination of contract, by falsely stating that Carrie was in default. During the formal process to evict Carrie and her horses, the judge has ruled she could stay and continue the program with no interference from the township until mid June.
This is a big victory.
This will allow us to explore our options. We are working diligently to pull things together to keep this opportunity for our community.
There is a lot of momentum now and the judges ruling was a hard fought victory that protects the horses and gives us time to work on solutions without having to worry about the horses and trying to find homes for them in the middle of winter.
The ruling was sensitive to our schools equestrian programming which is a relief for our Middle School season but is still total devastation for our High School Equestrian Teams.
With well over 4300 signatures on our support petition, countless attempts to communicate, offerings to provide solutions, we were not heard by township. They have an agenda they are intending to pursue. They do not want the communities input and have made that clear.
In the meantime we will collect ourselves and continue to work hard for the program and these loyal horses!!
Stay tuned for updates and how you can help to support theses efforts.
Thank you for your continued support!! Keep sharing and collecting signatures.
