Whole Foods Montgomery plans to shut its doors on May 6th, 2022. According to its management, the store is closing because they don't make the same amount as other stores per day but they normally do pretty well at catching up on the weekend. Even so, Amazon has decided to close the store.

Montgomery is already severely lacking when it comes to health-conscious and vegan-friendly selections and grocery stores and now we're about to lose the biggest one we currently have available. Not to mention the staff is losing their job(s) with less than a week's notice.

Montgomery doesn't need another eyesore of an empty building. Even if the way that the store is set up has to change or be downsized, that's better than losing it altogether.

This petition is to ask Amazon and Whole Foods as a company to sit down with the local city leadership of Montgomery and find a way to keep its doors open (or reopen/replace it with a store that's better tailored to fit the area i.e. Amazon Fresh).
