Vollskogen is a 30 hectare forest adjacent to Pentagon student housing.  The kommune has decided to deforest the area to replace it with homes for new families, even though multiple apartment buildings have just been constructed near the town center.  Students will lose their access to nature and its health benefits, while the town will lose the stormwater control, the air cleaning, and timber services of the forest.  

If the housing plan is not stopped, Vollskogen will not longer exist.  Only scattered woodlots and trees will be left.  Species that can only live in forest interior will not be able to persist in this area.  The construction would drastically change the water flow patterns and threaten an endangered nature type, the rik gransvampskog, at the southeast of Vollskogen.

Time is running out as nearly all politicians are pushing to destroy the forest for profit.  It would cost nothing to keep it as it is, free for anyone to use.  Many parties continue to greenwash by claiming they are making Ås environmentally friendly, even though they support deforestation.  We need everyone to come together to sign this petition, send emails to politicians, and let Vollskogen live!  La Vollskogen Leve!
