The Issue

Tigers are some of the world's mightiest and most majestic wild mammals. However, they are also one of the most endangered large mammals on the planet. Tiger populations in Thailand and Bhutan may be on the increase, but efforts cannot stop to protect them so long as demand for tiger parts exists from international criminal syndicates. Anti-poaching units can and do protect the tigers, but the dependence of the tigers on these anti-poaching units means that they tigers cannot be left to their themselves, as poachers and their syndicates will easily take advantage of their absence and slaughter the remaining tigers to extinction. So, in order to address this problem, the perimeters of Thap Lan National Park and Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary in Thailand, as well as Bhutan's Royal Manas National Park, must be surrounded completely by an electric fence that will be be both tall enough to keep tigers in, and those evil poachers, out. So, I am therefore calling on the governments of Thailand and Bhutan to erect a huge fence around the perimeters of Thap Lan National Park and Huai Kha Khaeng National Park in Thailand, and Royal Manas National Park in Bhutan. This huge fence requires funding from both governmental and non-governmental organizations to keep the poachers out and the tigers in. The US Fish and Wildlife Service will provide the funding for the Wildlife Conservation Society and the World Wildlife Fund to work alongside the governments of Thailand and Bhutan to erect the fence to keep the tigers of these areas safe forever without fear of poachers. Thank you.
