I am a local to the Valley View Driving Range, I have come to stop the closure of the driving range at the end of the year... For me, the Valley View Driving Range isn't just a facility; it's a place where I can practice my swing, perhaps sharpening my skills for the next friendly match or merely enjoying some me-time. I often travel there because this spot, unlike others in Adelaide, collects the balls we hit and ones we miss, providing a unique service that enhances the golfing experience. 

The Valley View Driving Range is more than just a golfing facility. It is a beloved community space that embodies local sporting spirit. Unfortunately, our treasured range is in danger of closure. If this happens, the closest alternative is by Adelaide Airport – a long distance that would render regular practice unmanageable for many of us.

According to the Australian Government Department of Health, sports like golf are crucial in promoting physical activity and wellbeing among Australia’s population. Regular physical activity is proven to reduce the risks of depression, anxiety, and improve overall mental health. Losing the Valley View Range would not just represent a logistical inconvenience, but also a significant blow to our communal wellbeing.
