The Los Angeles Unified School District has approved the removal of 44 trees from the campus of Colfax Elementary School in Valley Village, CA. The parents, teachers, and most importantly the students of Colfax are 100% against this action being taken, and want School Board Member Scott Schmerelson to step in on their behalf and SAVE THE TREES!!! Some of the trees are being removed to make way for new construction. But other trees slated for removal aren't anywhere near the new building, and are considered vitally important for a multitude of reasons-- shade for students, shade for farm animals, clean air, campus privacy, campus beauty, and above all, Kid Nation- the students imaginary country that happens to exist within the walls of Colfax Elementary School.
