Save The Trees at Beck Mill

Save The Trees at Beck Mill
The Issue
Two large mature sycamore trees are to be felled in Beck Mill car park, in Clayton, Bradford, to make way for development of the area. This work is scheduled for Tuesday 7th June.
This decision has been made by the property owners without any discussion with tenants of the mill or residents in the houses overlooked by the mill who will be affected. It also doesn't take in to account that there are currently birds nesting in the trees.
The loss of these trees will result in
- Destruction of valuable wildlife habitat
- Destruction of nests, eggs and baby birds
- A reduction of local amenity
- Less screening for local residents opposite the mill
- Overall diminishing of the look and feel of the area
As this is private land it is the owners choice at this point. The only thing we can do is encourage the owner to reconsider and be mindful of the impact on local biodiversity and the people who live and work here.
Please sign to show your support to convince the owners that felling these beautiful trees will do more harm than good.
Many thanks.
