Look how much open park space Delwest wants to replace with high-density housing!
Not only does Delwest want to demolish a popular nostalgic building which is important to our community, but they also want to replace this public space with even more housing. Small townhomes without a yard which would stack residents literally on top of one another. Sherrelwood has already undergone several complexes going up in recent years and we desperately want to hang onto one of the last parcels of open active recreational space in this small municipality.
Delwest will be hosting a neighborhood meeting on August 25th @ 6pm to discuss their plans to obliterate this property and surrounding park. Please join the virtual meeting and support our community! Let's make this development company know that we have plenty enough housing in the neighborhood already, and we want to keep our local culture intact by sparing the former Children's Outreach Project - the dome structure affectionately referred to as the "Spaceship House".
