Beloved venues the Royal Function Rooms and Billabong are threatened with redevelopment into housing. Please sign this petition to demonstrate our community's objection to the destruction of this historic venue and much needed cultural space.

We need more art, music, theatre - things to bring our community together.

We have so few spaces to connect - is it any wonder that the forces of division are winning? Few things bring people together like music. We need this space. What is being proposed here is cultural and historical vandalism. The destruction of this theatre, with its beautiful old stage and architecture is as unforgivable as it is unnecessary. Let us bring this venue back. I promise we will use it to serve the community. 

Stopping this planning permission is just the start. We intend to apply for the Royal Function Rooms to be designated an Asset of Community Value and have it brought back into use a cultural space run BY the Community, FOR the Community (that's you btw)
