Roxy Cinema has been a cultural mainstay for generations in Burlington Vermont. Sadly after 43 years the theater was closed last year in 2024. Roxy has a long and storied history. The theater began as Loews Nickelodeon in 1981. It then was briefly Sony and Hoyts before becoming Roxy Cinema in 2003. The Roxy won Seven Days best movie theater 9 years straight! We should never give up on a part of our community like our beloved Roxy. Just like the library, post office or city hall it should remain open as a movie theater. Let's petition to restore and revitalize Roxy Cinema to a theater.
