Save the Plymouth Pavilions Fun Pool & Ice Rink

Save the Plymouth Pavilions Fun Pool & Ice Rink
The Issue
The Plymouth Pavilions has been a popular leisure/entertainment complex in the city for the last 31 years. Only since the pool shut in 2012 has the place had far less of an appeal to go. Only yesterday we got the news that the ice rink will follow the pool's fate, thus will permanently close on 1st January 2023.
This will lead to huge upset and frustration with many people throughout the city and potentially beyond, since the ice rink was the only one south-west of Bristol. Whether people used it for recreational or sporting use, the ice rink remains one of the most enjoyed places for fun in Plymouth.
As for when it's planned to close, that will result in half of the whole building unused (alongside the former pool), which will seem such a waste of land. As for the pool, the decision to close this was also a grave mistake, costing Plymothians of a place of fun and excitement (particularly familes and children). There have been numerous petitions in the past to reopen the pool, but with no avail. However, 10 years on and with the ice rink about the close its doors for good, it's seriously time for there to be a big discussion on not just saving the ice rink, but reopening the pool too.
The Life Centre's pool is nowhere near the same level of enjoyment and this is the opinion of many. The future of the whole place is seriously at risk here and Plymouth City Council and the Pavilions need to come up a plan to reopen the pool and save the ice rink, and let the people of Plymouth enjoy the places that were/are such a detrimental part of the city. It has been done with Tinside, so it can be done with the Pavilions too.
