The Issue

I’ve been going to the North Topeka Salon Centric, formerly known as Peels, since I was a child. As a kid, I would accompany my grandma, who was a stylist, to the store, and it quickly became a special part of our routine. Now, as a practicing cosmetologist at the age of 38, this location holds a significant place in my heart and in our local community. I vividly recall being as young as ten, perhaps even younger, experiencing the warmth and professionalism of the staff there.

The North Topeka Salon Centric is not just a store; it’s a community hub for local cosmetologists and stylists. It offers unparalleled resources, customer service, and industry connection. Losing it would be a detrimental blow to professionals and customers who depend on it for their day-to-day needs and professional development.

According to industry reports, local salon suppliers like ours greatly contribute to sustaining and nurturing local businesses and talents. By centralizing locations, Salon Centric might save some costs in the short term, but they risk alienating a devoted customer base who value accessibility and personal touch.

Economically, independent salons and stylists bring significant revenue to the local economy. By maintaining this location, Salon Centric contributes to the livelihood of countless small business owners who rely on easy access to supplies and expert advice. Furthermore, the store embodies years of trust and loyalty built between the people in rural areas ofTopeka and Salon Centric.

I urge the decision makers at Salon Centric to reconsider their plans for consolidation. Instead of closing this pivotal location, they should invest in it, harnessing the already strong bonds and goodwill present in our community. Doing so will not only benefit us, the stylists and customers, but also solidify Salon Centric’s standing as a beloved and respected business in our area.

Please, add your voice to our cause. Sign this petition to keep the North Topeka Salon Centric open, and support our local community of stylists, salon owners, and beauty enthusiasts. Let's protect and preserve this cherished establishment that has served us for decades.
