There is a current effort to change the name of Fort Bragg, California

Fort Bragg California has been the home of many wonderful and

upstanding citizens of this country for over *166* years.  Fort Bragg has 

supported a booming logging industry and an industrious fishing

industry that provided jobs to thousands of families from all walks of

life.  It is made up of people from countries across the world, including

Finland, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Russia,

the Ukraine, and other countries in Europe and people from Mexico,

Central America, South America and Africa and our native American 

people.  We are a proud town that is free of racial bias.  We live in peace

and harmony with all our fellow men and women.  

 

Fort Bragg, California is written into our history books as a town that built

itself from the ground up with the help of our people from across the

world and with the wisdom and strength of our native American people.  

We associate Fort Bragg with men and women of strength of character

and we honor all people.

 

DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME OF OUR TOWN!!

The name Fort Bragg, California represents families that made the town

the beautiful place that it is to this day.  The memories over the years

are of a striving, strong and prosperous coastal community that now

welcomes people to come and experience all of it's spectacular uniqueness 

along the northern California coast.

 

Fort Bragg, California is my home.  My family built over 30 homes here

as well as two lodges, one in Fort Bragg and another in nearby Cleone.

I went to school in Fort Bragg from kindergarten to my graduation from

Fort Bragg High School, a great school with a great name.  I am proud

of my Fort Bragg, California home and the name of my town.

 

LEAVE THE NAME FORT BRAGG, CALIFORNIA ALONE!!

 

Take your political activities somewhere else and leave our town alone!!

 

There are other demanding issues that need to be addressed in the

State of California.  There are a myriad of serious matters facing this state,

including the skyrocketing cost of living and homelessness.  Focus your 

time and money on those matters instead of attacking Fort Bragg, CA!!
