*We are Residents of the areas beyond Pontchartrain Shores. 

*We are AGAINST the proposed plan by the Pontchartrain Shores Civic Association & Jefferson Parish  to trap and KILL the domestic Muscovy ducks. 

*We agree and recognize the need for action to resolve residents' complaints regarding the Muscovy ducks.

 

We are requesting alternative methods to humanely reduce the population, which have been successful in other areas.

 

*Creating public awareness through signage and mailers to inform/educate residents about the DO NOT FEED ordinance, why it exists, and the consequences of not abiding by it.

*Propose feeding grounds outside of residential neighborhoods.

*Most importantly, implementing A PROPER EGG COLLECTION PROGRAM.

*More stringent fines/enforcement of the Do Not Feed ordinance.

*Create an advocacy group of volunteers to address properties deemed (by parish officials) as a duck nuisance.
