Hello Friends of the Moffett Field Commissary! First! We have seen a huge influx of people signing the petition in the last few days which has brought us to over 2100 signatures. Thank you so much for your support! We appreciate EVERY signature from the general public as well as our Bay Area military community and beyond. As some of you are already aware, Congressman Liccardo released a statement today to announce that the commissary will stay open for at least another two years to 2028 with an option to renew for an addition year to 2029. This is GREAT news for Bay Area service members, veterans, retirees and their families! We are so grateful to Congressman Liccardo who helped bring about the deal between DeCA and NASA Ames. There is still more work to do! The Army Reserve still needs to figure out whether or not they can provide land outside of the Moffett gate for a new commissary. There will also need to be funding which will be quite a lot of money. There are a lot of questions right now that won’t have answers for some time. While we wait for answers and take some time to regroup, please continue sharing the petition with your friends and family. The petition is just as important today as it was last week, last month and last year. We will not shutdown the petition until ground is broken on a new commissary.
