Save the Magnolia

Save the Magnolia
Why this petition matters
GOOD NEWS! The developers of a large apartment complex have modified their plans to save our beautiful magnolia. The North Little Rock Board of Adjustments approved the variances they needed to stay away from the tree but still keep their project on track. They have come to appreciate that when North Little Rock was incorporated as a city, this tree had been standing for at least 42 years! They now have gone on record stating they want to preserve it.
This Magnolia is the second tallest in Arkansas according to the Department of Forestry. The tree may disappear if equipment and construction work are not kept out from under the drip line of its canopy. This is the Tree Protection Zone that the developers have said they will support.
This iconic Magnolia is near the Arkansas River Trail and the old Recovery Centers of Arkansas complex.
Contact these developers and thank them for supporting a Tree Protection Zone to be established and maintained throughout the development.
