The mural in the Lake Highlands Junior High School Cafeteria was designed by student Ray Navarro, painted by Nina Boothe's art classes, and dedicated to our Student Council President Tom Brewton who was killed by a reckless driver while in his front yard a few blocks down the street from the school he loved. The mural was painted in May of 1975.

     The Junior High will be torn down in the next year after the new building is completed.

     We, the petitioners ask that all possible steps be taken to preserve this mural intact as far as is feasible. that the mural is transferred with an accompanying and explanatory plaque to the new building.
