Michigan, Kentucky, Washington, Notre Dame, Ohio State…. What do these Universities (among others) have in common? A solid, easily identifiable letter logo that’s well known and established.  Similar to the current Kennett “K”.

Recently an unknown group of stakeholders said to be comprised of students, alumni, employees and community members of the Kennett Consolidated School District met and discussed the re-branding of the Kennett School District “K” logo.  A logo that was cunningly rolled out to the staff at the beginning of the year via new t-shirts. These t-shirts as per a recent Chester County Press article took community members and alumni by surprise. 

This new logo for a school district in the town of Kennett SQUARE was formed and is now being represented by the letter K with a circle around it. The original block K logo is a strong logo that stands by itself. An unnecessary rebranding of a logo that has been around for as long as most can remember.  This logo is proudly displayed on sports jerseys, athletic fields, spirit wear and our water tower. To redesign this logo is absurd. It is a waste of money and provides no educational value to our students.  Money that could be spent in countless other areas to enhance the learning and education of our students. The current logo IS Kennett, we do not need to alter something that is known across Chester County. 

We the undersigned, are asking that the Kennett Consolidated Board of Directors vote to shut down the rebranding of our beloved Kennett “K”.
