Hi folks
This campaign has grown far beyond a single programme.
What began as a petition to Save The Iain Anderson Show is now recognised as a vital statement about the future of Scottish culture on our national broadcaster.
With over 15,000 signatures, and thousands of comments and likes achieved without major media coverage or celebrity endorsements, this movement has been powered purely by the voices of listeners and artists and radio presenters who care deeply about Scotland’s music and cultural heritage.
Many supporters now see the proposed changes not just as a scheduling decision, but as an assault on Scottish culture.
Late-night radio has always been a space where Scottish voices are heard, where new music finds its home, and where culture is nurtured rather than side-lined.
Losing this programme risks silencing that space. That unique Scottish Space.
This petition is not an attack on the BBC — it is a call for reflection and recognition of the vital role programmes like this play in sustaining Scotland’s cultural life.
But the clue is in the title: Its BBC Radio Scotland. Not BBC Easy Listening.
Thank you to everyone who has added their name and voice.
Together, we are making it clear: Scottish culture deserves to be heard.
Scottish Music Deserves To be Heard on BBC Radio Scotland.
