Morning everyone
Another week begins, and once again it’s been all about quiet momentum — people who know what they’re doing, doing exactly what they kno
w what to. As in all walks of life having the pros on board makes a huge difference
The petition has been massively successful, shining a bright light on what BBC Radio Scotland are up to, and now sits at just under 15,000 signatures.
I think we’ve reached the stage where we can hand it in. Here are the methods my new pal at ChatGP suggested —
But all your thoughts and suggestions are as always welcome.
1. Take It to Pacific Quay (the main HQ)
BBC Radio Scotland broadcasts from BBC Scotland, Pacific Quay, Glasgow — the place where things actually land on the right desk.
Address:
BBC Scotland
40 Pacific Quay
Glasgow G51 1DA
You can hand-deliver it to reception — they’re used to receiving material for producers and editors.
2. Make It Look Professional
It’ll get read faster if it looks the part:
• A clean cover page with the title
• Your name and contact details
• A short, polite covering letter
• Signatures clearly organised
• Optional: a QR link to a video or audio message (very on-brand for a musician )
3. Send Copies to the Right People
Don’t leave it to chance. Email plus hard copy works best.
Send a digital copy to:
• The Programme Editors for the shows involved
• The Head of Radio, BBC Scotland
• The general BBC Scotland inbox (they do route things internally)
Keep the email short, warm, and to the point.
4. Follow Up in a Week
A polite nudge works wonders:
“Just checking you received the petition safely — happy to chat if you need any further info.”
No pressure, just a gentle tap on the door.
5. Optional but Powerful: Social Proof
A wee online update helps keep the wind at your back:
• “Petition delivered to BBC Radio Scotland today — thanks to everyone who signed.”
• Tag @bbcradioscot if you fancy.
Shows momentum without sounding demanding.
