Save the Henry family farm from eminent domain

Save the Henry family farm from eminent domain
The Issue
The Henry's farm has been in the family since 1850, and Cranbury city officials are now trying to take it by force, using eminent domain.
Andy Henry and his brother have turned down many offers for the land, some as high as $30 million. “It's certainly emotional. We love having it as a farm. We just love taking care of it," Andy said, "I want to pass this on to my kids. I hope they love it like we do.”
Cranbury officials, following New Jersey state mandates, want to bulldoze the farm for "affordable" housing. Despite there being other options closer to public transportation and job opportunities, Cranbury city officials have been pushing for the Henry family farm, and have been applying pressure tactics to make it difficult for Andy to fight back.
“No phone calls, no communication from them over these last several months when they've been working on this,” Andy says, “It's just right out of the blue, less than five days before they had a first reading.”
New deadlines are fast approaching. There are meetings upcoming, lawsuits being filed, and the town plans to do an appraisal of the farm on September 3, 2025.

Dear [NAME],
I am writing today to voice support for Mr. Andy Henry and his desire to preserve the farm that has been in his family since 1850.
Eminent Domain is an act of force perpetrated against peaceful persons. The initiation of violence or theft decreases happiness, harmony, and prosperity, always, and there is no special exception for government officials to rightly diminish these goods.
I write asking that you please cease attempts to take the Henry family farm in part or whole, and act in a manner that serves and protects rather than persecutes citizens you are tasked with representing.
I urge you to explore the other options available to fulfill the requirements of the state mandate, and take time to listen thoughtfully to the wishes of property owners and concerned members of the Cranbury community, and all who seek nonviolent ways to advance human flourishing.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
[YOUR NAME]
