The swimming pool at Gadsden High School has been a place for our at-risk youth and low-income community to use as an oasis in our desert valley.  As of late, the executive leadership of the Gadsden Independent School District (GISD) have made reference that they would be in favor of filling in the pool to save costs rather than to make the needed repairs to keep the pool open.  In past years, the district has made little effort in promoting the pool to the community, other than just a small 4' by 3' banner hung on the fence at the high school. 

We, the communities of Gadsden ISD demand that the pool be kept open, promoted efficiently through the various platforms available to the school district and supported by the Gadsden ISD for years to come.
