For many of us in Somerset, UK, the bus services numbered 1, 25, 28, 54 and 58 are more than just numbers. They are our lifelines to hospital appointments, college classes or school days. They carry us to work and bring us home again. These buses aren't just about transportation; they're about maintaining our quality of life.

However, at the Somerset Bus Advisory Board meeting on the 6th February 2024, it was announced that the 54 and 58 would be withdrawn in April 2024 if funding isn’t provided. This is not just a personal issue for us but for all who depend on these routes daily.

According to Transport for Quality of Life (TQL), an independent public transport research organisation based in the UK - "Bus service cuts can lead to social isolation and disadvantage". It's not difficult to see how this applies here in Somerset where many rely heavily on these bus routes.

We cannot let this happen. We need your support now more than ever before. Let's stand together as a community and save our vital bus services - the number one need for many residents of Somerset.
