SAVE the Eppalock Coast Guard for Local Safety and Emergency Response

The issue

For those of us living in the vicinity of Lake Eppalock in country Victoria and the many visitors who spend recreation time there, the Eppalock Coastguard isn't just a service provider - it's a lifeline. Created by locals and sustained by community donations, the coast guard offers both emergency and non-emergency response that is essential for our safety and well-being. Without it, the nearest Emergency Organisation possessing an appropriate vessel for rescue and response is a daunting 30 minutes away - a delay that could mean the difference between life and death in certain circumstances.

The members of the Eppalock flotilla have invested thousands of hours training to be qualified to support water users, and countless hours fundraising to keep the service afloat.  They deserve to be supported by the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard, so that they can continue supporting their community.

Our coastguard not only contributes to our safety but to our sense of community, fostering bonds that hold us together. Its survival is essential to the continued resilience and strength of our community. We have a duty to protect it, thereby preserving the essence of our community and the lives of those who make it home. Join us in requesting the National Australian Coast Guard to recognize the vital importance of the Eppalock Coastguard and provide it with necessary support for its continuation. Sign this petition and help us safeguard our community, our lives, and our future.
