forests are no longer sanctuaries for elephants; they have been turned into graveyards. Elephants has been around longer then us. They have the exact amount of rights to be on this earth. Elephants are in danger because of us. They are the forest gardeners. We must protect them. We must care for them. We must save them. Humans have been hunting elephants for their ivory to sell on the black market for a lot of money. Hunting animals and selling their ivory is illegal. In 2009, over 20,000kg of ivory was seized by police and customs authorities worldwide and in 2011, just thirteen of the largest seizures amounted to over 23,000kg, breaking records. Sometimes hunters will solely cut the ivory tusks off the elephants and then leave the animals living in pain before they slowely die from infection and blood loss. This is still an ongoing problem. If you ever see ivory being sold somewhere illegally please report that person immediately.
