Save the dogs at paternoster farm, st Mary’s in the marsh
The Issue
Please everyone we need to do all we can to get them 63 dogs out of them poor conditions they are living in! We need to save them!
If we can get them out of there they will be able to live a happy life, and get the care and love they need instead of being neglected.
It's important to act now to do all we can to get them out of there, as we have all tried everything else.
On 29th September 2022 the RSPCA, Police and Folkestone and Hythe council carried out a raid on a suspected puppy farm in Hope Lane, St Mary-in-the-Marsh, Romney Marsh as the owner had pushed back on anymore visits by the authorities and refused them entry to the site which resulted in JUST TWO DOGS out of 65 living in "poor, unclean and cramped" conditions being removed. It's unclear if a prosecution against the owner - a middle-aged female - is to follow. The caravan is being used for housing dogs rather than people. Other dogs are kept in stables and "are often heard fighting or howling, and are clearly distressed.” "A young couple make periodic visits, seemingly by appointment and bring individual dogs and leave them with the occupant of the site. The dogs are often left unattended for long periods”. The Looker Newspaper reported in February 2022 that Officers from the Community Policing Team reported that there were four to five dogs in a caravan and the same number loose with 10 to 15 dogs in each of the three stables. Lisa Farrell, Animal Licensing Inspector with Folkestone and Hythe District Council, is said to have visited the site with Kent Police and RSPCA inspectors "on several occasions" and has met with the owner. A visit by the Licensing Department and RSPCA on 27 January 2022 resulted in the owner being asked to make some improvements and to take a small number of dogs to a vet for examination. She was also asked to rehouse five Labradoodle puppies. Local animal charity Last Chance has confirmed it is willing to help with any rescue effort and "will offer warm, safe, hygienic accommodation together with veterinary care, exercise, mental stimulation and human company".
